From Resistance to Resilience:

The Pathway to Peace

When we resist what life brings, we hold our breath against possibility.

But when we soften - when we allow faith to lead us

- resilience rises quietly from within.

This reflection explores how surrender and trust

can transform life’s hardest moments into doorways to peace.

🌺

There was a time when I felt like everything was working against me

The company I was working for left the country and I lost my high-paying job. It wasn't long before I had to sell my house because I could no longer pay the mortgage. My son couldn't stay in the same school district because we had to move, so he decided to go live with his dad.

I felt a complete loss of control and had anxiety about the next month or even next week, and my ability to care for my children or even myself. I was living in fear!

🌺

It Didn't Occur to Me

That I was living in resistance, and felt that nothing and no one was there to help me. I was unaware that I was believing that I had to control every person and circumstance around me, but of course, I could not. More importantly, when I choose resistance, I am unable to experience surrender, peace and flow.

🌺

I discovered that letting go of resistance to experience resilience wasn’t about giving up - it was about opening up.

It wasn't until I let go of all my "coping mechanisms" (drugs and alcohol), and entered into a program of recovery that I realized I was practicing resistance and not allowing the sunlight of the spirit to guide and guard me.

🌺

The Turning Point: Surrender as Strength Purpose

In recovery, I learned that during my addiction, I'd turned my head and heart away from the presence of God, closing the door to the very love and support that I so desperately needed! Through acceptance of my addiction, prayer and the program of recovery, I was finally able to surrender and trust.

Faith didn't remove the challenge, it softened my heart and helped me to gain a new perspective. As I allowed the love of a God and my sponsor in to my heart, I began practicing Ho'oponopono towards myself and others. I found my purpose in serving others and began experiencing flow!

🌺

The Flow of Resilience

My experience has taught me that resilience isn't about being tough. It's about being open, aware and having the ability to accept through trust; like sunlight piercing through the fog. It's through letting go of resistance that we experience the quiet rise of resilience - the kind that flows instead of fights.

🌺

Living in Alignment Purpose

Today, I face challenges differently. When I become aware that I'm trying to control a situation, I turn to prayer and ask God to, "Take my will and my life, guide me in my recovery and show me how to live." In other words, I am striving less and trusting more.

Are you experiencing the anxiety of stress and a need to control? If so, pause, breathe, and ask what part of you is afraid of letting go. Also, see surrender as active cooperation with divine flow.

May this reflection remind you that peace isn’t found in perfection, but in presence.

🌺

The Gift of Peace Purpose

The silver lining in experiencing struggle is this: resilience is born from faith, not force.

Whenever you feel pulled into a struggle, reconnect with your inner stillness by pausing, praying and pivoting toward faith.

May you find peace not by pushing harder, but by opening wider - because when you let go of resistance, resilience always rises to meet you.

May every letting go reveal a little more of who you truly are — resilient, radiant, and free
